    Where to play on Children's Day

      Once a year, children are freed from the slavery that is homework and can act like little princes and princesses. On top of taking the angels for a meal and buying them the latest flashing trainers, there are several fun events happening on Children's Day and over the weekend. Here are a few.

    Art fair for children @ New Bamboo Academy

    New Bamboo Academy will host an art fair on Children's Day. At the fair, parents can bring their children and paint together. Painting tools will be provided. To take part in this event, you need to email your full name and telephone number to newbamboojb@gmail.com.

    Back to the age of innocence party @ Yugong Yishan

    Children's Day is not only for the under 18s, but also for adults. On this day, people can find an excuse to escape the hustle and bustle and embrace the music and their inner child. Rock bands DH &Chinese Hellcats, Dude, Candy Monster and Residence A will stand by your side and rock you till the end. Drink a little, swing a little and then sleep like a baby.

    Kro's Children's Day @ Kro's Nest

    Kro's Nest will celebrate Children's Day with big kids and real kids together. For big kids over the age of 18, buy a medium America roast duck pizza and get Honglingjin for free, and for real kids under 12 years old, enjoy free ice cream. The first 50 people to arrive will receive complimentary San Dao Gang. The whole restaurant will play 1980s retro cartoon music all night.

    Where the Wild Things Are @ Weida Hanglu Café

    Accompany your children to watch a movie and feel the power of Mother Nature. Where the Wild Things Are, the 2009 American fantasy film directed by Spike Jonze, is adapted from Maurice Sendak's book of the same title from 1963. It tells the story of an eight-year-old boy named Max Records, who leaves home and goes to a mystery island. The residents on the island however are creatures with horns on their head and hair all over their body. In order to keep safe on the island, he has to become the king. In English with Chinese subtitles.

    Happy Children's Day @ Beijing Happy Valley

    Nothing is more important than bringing happiness to children on Children's Day. Happy Valley amusement park is therefore the place to go, since it will double the happiness with its ticket discount. Between June 1 and June 3, all children under 1.5 meters in height can enter the amusement park for free if accompanied by an adult.

    Happy Children's Day puppet show concert @ Forbidden City Concert Hall

    Bring your child to the concert hall and let them get immersed in the melodies. Peter and the Wolf, a composition created by Sergei Prokofiev, takes children on a wonderful adventure into the world of animals, including wolves, cats and ducks.

    Literature and recycling workshop @ Instituto Cervantes Pekín

    Children can help make Beijing more green at Instituto Cervantes Pekín. The Spanish cultural center will host a literary and recycling workshop. Children will learn how to craft a book with cardboard and other recycled materials, using a well-known Spanish book for inspiration. A reservation is required.
