Beijing and Guangzhou will be included in the second group of cities in the property tax trial program, which may be launched as early as late 2012, Beijing-based China Times reported yesterday, citing an unnamed expert at China Academy of Social Sciences close to the Ministry of Finance.
The program can extend to more cities, as the property tax is a long-term mechanism that should be advanced sooner or later, the expert said.
