(Ecns.cn) -- A list of ideal husbands named by Chinese females reveals the current popular standards for selecting a spouse. It has stirred up discussions on the internet, said China News website on Thursday.
The list was compiled from the collective assessments that probed 5 aspects: the man's appearance, attitude towards romance, ability to support the family, likelihood of being unfaithful and the overall impression.
Males who graduated as science majors top the list as the most desirable spouse . They make more money and cheat less, thus make perfect husbands, according to the reasoning. Traditionally, however, males with science and technology background were viewed as "dumb and boring."
Seventeen top Chinese universities are mentioned in the list, with Tsinghua University being the first source of ideal husbands.
The survey reveals female reasoning behind a choice of spouse, not their motives for falling in love, commented Zhou Xiaopeng, an expert from a famous dating website.
