The man, who allegedly used "cloned taxi" to cheat a Japanese customer of nearly 600 yuan ($95) earlier this month has been detained, local police said Tuesday.
Police said that the suspect, surnamed Zhao, who had swapped the foreigner's yuan for fake notes and over-swiped his transportation card, had nearly 14,000 yuan worth of counterfeit bills and a total of 75 transportation cards.
In their search for Zhao, police also found three other cloned taxis.
