Shanghai residents can now book taxis using a new cellphone application, the first of its kind on the Chinese mainland.
The free application can be downloaded from Dazhong Taxi's official website, which has over 9,000 cabs to serve customers in the city. The application will direct the nearest free cabbie to the customer for an additional cost of 4 yuan ($0.64).
