A 12-year-old boy injured his right eye while setting off firecrackers at Bulaotun, Miyun county, the first fireworks injury the 120 emergency rescue service has dealt with this year, the Beijing Evening News reported.
The government fireworks office said it is forbidden to let off fireworks until New Year's Eve, which falls on Sunday.
