83,900 labor cases

Shanghai's mediation committee and labor dispute arbitration committee settled 83,900 cases regarding labor and personnel distribution conflicts, helping wronged employees get back a total of 697 million yuan ($110.1 million) in wages or economic losses, the city's human resources and social security bureau said Wednesday.

Local authorities further praised 74 enterprises in the city for their practices that work to prevent labor disputes.
