(Ecns.cn)--After being at large for 17 years, a man named Zhang who seduced and had sex with 14 young girls from 1985 to 1987 has finally been arrested. Over the years, the notorious rapist had become a billionaire from the real estate and advertisement industries, according to a local newspaper in central China's Henan Province.
Zhang lured and took advantage of the 14 girls, including 7 who were underage, by offering money or empty promises that he would find them jobs. In 1990, he was caught and sentenced to death for three charges, including rape and economic crimes.
However, his death penalty was later suspended and Zhang was sent to prison to serve his term in Xuchang city of Henan Province. In January 1995, Zhang escaped from the prison during a medical parole. In the next 17 years he changed his name and set up businesses in many cities, including Beijing, Zhengzhou and Guangzhou.
As Zhang's business became larger and he settled down in the Henan capital, local police were finally able to track him down. On Nov.14 he was caught in his home in Zhengzhou.
